1 Ensure that you meet the minimum requirements for Skype listed in Things You'll Need. If you are not sure, select "About This Mac" from the Apple menu at the top left corner of your screen. 2 Skype Installation Download and install Skype software. The .dmg (disk image) file is saved in your downloads folder, and it may or may not open up automatically. If it does, the window shown here will appear. It tells you to click and drag the Skype application into the "Applications" folder. Perform that step and let the copying complete. 3 Launch Skype. You will be asked to register a new account if you do not already have one. Follow the setup wizard's instructions to create an account. 4 Invite friends whom you call often to join Skype. 5 Stay online to ensure that friends can reach you on Skype. You can also set your status to "Invisible," "Offline" or "Away." |
